The Namaz of Ashura 

Prophet (PBUH) said that,

“The one who performs 4 Rakat’s of prayer on the Day of Ashura in this way that Allah will forgive 50 years of his sins and he will have blessed with a pulpit of Noor, but he reads the entire Surah Ikhlas 11 times after Surah Fatiha in every Rakat.” (Nuzhatul Majalis, Vol.1, Pg.181)

Fasting on Ashura

To keep fast on the Day of Ashura is well-intentioned of countless reward. The Holy Prophet (PBUH) used to even fast on 10th Muharram and said that, “You too should fast in this day” This is a reason that we should not only fast on 10th but also on the 9th of Muharram and you get the “Historical significance of Ashura”.
